“Air is the most valuable commodity!” An interview with Managing Director Annett Wettig
How does it feel today to look back on 25 successful years of the company? What were the most important milestones during this time?
“The first milestone was the founding of inVENTer by Peter Moser in 1999. In his search for a suitable ventilation system for his production facility, he only found very large and noisy central ventilation units, which also consumed a lot of electricity. Based on his own requirements for an optimal ventilation unit, he developed a solution that went on to revolutionize the ventilation market. The then innovative technology is now known as push-pull ventilation and is an absolute standard on the market. And finally, we launched our first self-developed fan optimized for reversible operation, the Xenion® fan, and with it an entire generation of new ventilation units, such as the iV14-Zero. The “Zero” is still our bestseller, our main milestone in the company's history, so to speak.”
The industry has changed significantly over the last 25 years. How has the company mastered these challenges and evolved at the same time?
“In the beginning, there were only centralized systems on the market, decentralized solutions were completely new territory. However, decentralized domestic ventilation now has a 50% market share. I think we can rightly see ourselves as a driving force behind the success of decentralized ventilation on the market. Of course, competition has become stronger, but competition stimulates business. Our system with the ceramic heat accumulator has established itself. While inVENTer initially specialized exclusively in the manufacture of decentralized ventilation units, we are now positioning ourselves more as an expert in everyday ventilation technology. Unfortunately, reservations about ventilation persist, such as the mindset: “Ventilation? Then I'll just open the window.” This completely ignores how much ventilation heat loss my property has to put up with as a result. And there is still far too much ignorance about the high efficiency of ventilation with heat recovery. Unfortunately, unlike in many other European countries, legislation does not yet oblige building owners and architects to install a ventilation system, it merely makes a recommendation. That is why we continue to tirelessly promote healthy air in our ventilation training courses by educating and informing architects and specialist planners.”

“The future of home ventilation”A review of the expert forum
As part of our 25th anniversary celebrations, inVENTer also organized a specialist forum in September, which brought together experts from the construction and ventilation industry. Under the motto “Seizing opportunities, mastering challenges”, key topics such as energy efficiency and cost savings were discussed in light of increasing demands for environmentally friendly construction.
